MY LATEST WATERCOLOUR SERIES IS OUT NOW

For this watercolour series, I worked over two days to paint six paintings.

I surprised myself. I had no idea I could produce this much art in such a short space of time. Well, it feels short to me.

EACH PAINTING SHOWS A SNAPSHOT OF NATURE

I use abstraction to bring out the essence of the animal or flower. My work mixes pencil, ink, and watercolour paint.

Having started watercolour in December 2024, I'm easily frustrated with drying times. Also, I can't plan or reproduce exact copies of sketches. I know many other artists do that. I'm different.

My process is very natural. I have to feel it right there and then. No two images I ever create are the same.

I had to allow the creativity to drip and pour onto these pages without getting stuck planning too much. I had to find a way to move forward without waiting forever, watching paint dry.

So, I made six paintings at once. With zero planning, waiting, or any frustration. I just did it.

I love this process. The whole "plan, plan, plan" thing never works for me. I love creating something fresh and new each time.

MY VIDEOS

I love making videos. From relaxing watercolour videos, full painting tutorials, to snapshots of my off-grid lifestyle in the forest. I make a vlog for each artwork I finish.

MY WORDS

I love writing too. I adore the subtle interplay between words and imagination. Painting pictures with sentences dripping in emotion gives my inner world a whole new creative outlet.

WHO I AM

I'm Jamie, a watercolour painter and artisan living off-grid in a beautiful forest. I've done many things in life. Living wild and making art is where I'm happiest.
